How To Make The Best Peanut-Butter Cookies

Introduction:  These Peanut-Butter Cookies are the best! Make these up when you are traveling for the kids or fill up your cookie jar and watch them disappear. With this recipe version, the cookies will crackle on top and fill your kitchen with a delightful fragrance.  Enjoy!!

 

You Will Need:

3/4 cup butter or margarine - room temperature

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup smooth  or crunchy peanut-butter

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

pinch of salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

about 1/3 cup extra granulated sugar in small bowl

a large bowl

electric mixer

ungreased baking sheets

Step 1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In bowl, with mixer, beat together butter, brown sugar and 3/4 cup granulated sugar until creamy. Add peanut-butter, egg and vanilla, beating until well blended. Gradually add flour, salt and baking soda, beating until well blended.

Step 2.  Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls; then roll dough in 1/3 cup grandulated sugar, covering completely. Place balls 2-inches apart on baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove cookies from baking sheets; cool on racks. Makes about 68 cookies.

 

Tips:  Baked cookies or cookie dough can be frozen. Best when eaten within a month.

Warnings:  Do not over bake or cookies will be hard and dry.
