Windows CE Graphical User Interface (GUI) was designed for handheld devices, such as Pocket PCs and mobile phones. If you want to print with Windows CE, you can configure a USB printer to print documents that are stored on your handheld devices. The GUI interface features and functions on the operating system are similar to Windows 95.

Instructions

Step 1:

Press the “Start” button on your desktop and select “Programs” from the menu list. Select “Set up” from the drop down menu. The “Terminal Properties” window will open on your desktop. You will see several system icons listed under Control Panel. Click on the “Printers” icon to open the terminal window.

Step 2:

Select “Add Printer” from the list of printing options. Click the “Open” button to start the Printer Wizard. Click the drop down arrow, and select the port that you want to use for your printer. Generally, most computers use the LPT1 port for a local printer. Click the “Next” button to continue.

Step 3:

Select the manufacturer name for your printer from the “Manufacturers” menu list. Use the arrows to scroll up or down the menu listing. Next, select your printer from the “Printer” menu listing. Click the “Next” button again to continue. If your printer is not present in the list, select a model that's similar to your printer's model.

Step 4:

Create a name for your printer and type it in the “Printer Name” field box. Click the “Next” button when you're finished.

Step 5:

Select the option “No” under “Do you want to configure another printer?” Close the “Printer Wizard” window box. Click the “X” symbol on the upper right-side of the window.

Step 6:

Press your printer's power on button. Also, make certain that there is enough paper in the printer's paper tray for printing your document.

Step 7:

Open the application that you want to use to print your document. Use the application's printing options for printing documents. Click on the “Print” button or select the “Print” hyperlink from the “File” menu list. A “Print” window box will appear on your desktop. Under “Printer Name” use the drop down arrow to find the name of your printer.

Step 8:

Choose the option for printing the entire document, or specify the pages that you want to print. Select the number of copies to print and click the “OK” button.
