Potato casserole with ground beef is a good treat to your family. This recipe that am going to share with you taste really  yummy.  My hubby always look for this recipe when I will not be able to cook this for months. I recommend this to everyone who loves cassroles. This is one good recipe to try. There are lots of different kinds of potato casserole but this is one of the best. Heres what you will need:

5 small to medium potatoes, raw and sliced thinly

1 pound ground beef  (you can use substitute if you are vegetarina)

1 can vegetarian vegetable soup

1 can cream og mushroom soup

2 tbsp. minced onion

1/4 cup vegetable oil

salt and pepper to taste

Instruction:

1.  Pre heat the oven to 375 degrees

2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef in medium heat and stir constantly to avoid sticking.  Let it brown then remove from heat and drain the excess oil then set aside.

3.  Mix both cans of soup  (undilluted) into the ground beef. Use a big spoon to mix it all together then set it aside. Prepare your casserole dish.

4. When your casserole dish is ready, cover the bottom of the casserole dish  with the 1/4 cup oil.  Next, layer the sliced potatoes  at the bottom of the casserole dish ( on top of the oil) then sprinkle with salt, pepper and the minced onion.

5.  Then pour the beef mixture over the layered potatoes, evenly.  Next, add the cheese on top and cover it with foil and you are now ready to bake.

6. Bake the potato casserole at 375 degrees for one hour or until it is done.  As soon as it is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes before serving. This really tastes yummy!! Enjoy.

Tips for vegetarians.  It is always advisable to use vegetarian crumbles as substitute for ground beef.  Morning star brand for crumbles is always the best to use as ground beef substitute in this recipe. You can find this in almost all health food store.
