HOW TO MAKE BROCCOLI /CHICKEN/RICE & CHEESE CASSEROLE |

Introduction: This recipe is a nourishing and a tasty meal that can be prepared quickly through the work week. Just bake it in a large casserole and it will be enough for the entire family of 4 or 5 people. All you cannot eat just place the remainder of it in a sealed plastic container that will hold its freshness for the next day; however, it will not spoil, not even the brocoli. Often times brocoli and cheese spoil faster than chicken and rice; nevertheless, if you place it in a container that keeps its freshness then its ok. 1s/2 lb. sliced chicken stemmed (don’t over stem) 1 lb. broccoli ½ way stemmed (don’t over stem) Boiled rice of your desire  3 tbsp. cheese of your choice 2 tbsp. margarine or butter / 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil Preheat oven to 375°F. In a 2 quart casserole, melt butter and olive oil in microwave with minced garlic until butter has melted Arrange cooked chicken slices in a layer along the bottom of the casserole and top with the steamed broccoli and rice cover with sauce (below). Top with American Cheese. Brown on the top third shelf in a 375°F. oven for about 10 minutes or (use your own judgment for taste. Apply sauce of your preference 1 cup of powered milk or liquid milk 3 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. flour 1 egg yolk 1/2 cup cheese of your choice 1/2 tsp. Mustard In a microwavable bowl, melt butter; whip in flour and when blended, slowly stir in milk. Heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until mixture is thick. Beat a few tablespoons of the hot liquid into 1 egg yolk; then transfer the egg yolk back into the sauce, stirring quickly. Add the cheese of your choice mustard. Lastly microwave until cheese has melted. Cook rice--Use any type of rice that would be desired It is important to allow the warm ingredients to cool before mixing everything together so the cheese doesn't melt too soon. When sufficiently cool, reserve 1/2 cup of the cheese and mix remaining ingredients together. Put in a oven-proof baking dish or casserole dish . Spread reserved 1/2 cup of cheese on top. Cover with foil. Bake for 20 minutes, remove foil; bake an additional 5 to 15 minutes, or until cheese on top is hot and bubbly. Cook wild rice according to directions. (Use any type of rice desired; wild rice is exceptionally good in this recipe). It is important to allow the warm ingredients to cool before mixing everything together so the cheese doesn't melt too soon. When adequately cool, reserve 1/2 cup of the cheese and mix remaining ingredients together. Put in an oven-proof baking dish or casserole dish. Bake for 20 minutes, remove foil; bake an additional 5 to 15 minutes, or until cheese on top is hot and bubbly.
