Introduction:  This Bourbon Pecan Pie is the most requested pie from family and friends that I bake. At holidays, I bake plenty of theses pies to serve and send home with guests and love baking them because they are so easy to prepare. The cooking takes away the alcohol, so don't worry, its OK for the little ones to eat. If you love pecan pie, bake this one the next time you are craving it or having guests over. You can keep the bourbon and chocolate a secret.  Enjoy!!

You Will Need:

1/2 cup chopped pecans

3 tablespoons bourbon

1/4 cup butter or margarine - melted

1 cup sugar

3 eggs

3/4 cup Mrs. Butterworth's syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chocolate chips

one 9-inch prepared pie-crust -unbaked

large bowl

Step 1.  Soak pecans in bourbon; set aside for 30 minutes.

Step 2.  In bowl, beat butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy. Blend in syrup, vanilla and salt. Add chocolate chips. Pour filling into pie-crust. Sprinkle filling with pecans. If any bourbon left, pour it on too.

Step 3.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes.

Tips:  Have a shot of bourbon while pie is baking, you deserve it!!

Warnings:  Always use oven mitts when removing hot pie from the oven.
