How To Make Butter Pecan Bread

Introduction:  This recipe is easy to follow and is made much like a cake. You will love the butter-pecan flavor of this great quick bread. It makes a great snack or serve it for breakfast. Butter Pecan Bread is good any time of the year and makes a great gift on holidays. You can use regular loaf pans, mini loaf pans or muffin pans.  Enjoy!!

You Will Need:

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup chopped pecans

1-slightly beaten egg

1 cup buttermilk

2 tablespoons butter or margarine - melted

1 greased 91/2-inch loaf pan

large bowl

electric mixer

Step 1.  Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in sugar and nuts.

Step 2.  Combine egg, buttermilk and butter together. Add to flour mixture, stirring just til moistened.

Step 3.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to cooling rack. Cool slightly before removing from the pan. Cool completely. 

Tips:   Store bread in a plastic bag in refrigerator. Mini loaf pans require less baking time.

Warning:  Always use oven mitts to remove hot pan from the oven.
