Your wedding anniversary is an important occasion that will be certain to bring back cherished memories of the day you married. However many years you’ve been together it’s important to spend some special time together on your anniversary to mark the event and with a bit of careful planning you can make sure this year is a celebration to remember.

The Anniversary Meal. Going out for a meal on your anniversary is a popular choice. If money is tight or if the children are young and it isn’t possible to find a babysitter it’s possible to create a romantic ambience in your own home. If you’re staying in then consider making life easy by buying in prepared food but it can be just as rewarding to take time over creating a lovingly prepared meal for two.

A Special Gift. Make this year one to remember by presenting the woman you love with more than a bunch of red roses. Choose a gift that will last such as a romantic heart necklace carefully packaged and wrapped. If this is your 25th wedding anniversary then make sure you choose a silver heart necklace in recognition of your Silver Wedding. Gift buying isn’t just for men either and women might want to consider buying a pair of stylish cufflinks or a designer watch.

Throw a Party. If this is a landmark anniversary why not throw a party for family and friends. Think about inviting guests who attended your wedding and make a special effort to track down the best man and bridesmaids.

Revisit Your Wedding Venue. The place where you were married will hold special memories and it can be very moving to go back there on your anniversary. Perhaps you could arrange to stay the night at the hotel where the reception was held or book into the restaurant. Alternatively, you may want to go back to your original honeymoon destination.

Perfect Night In. Many people have wedding videos or DVDs and your wedding anniversary is the perfect occasion to sit and watch these. Leafing through wedding photo albums or reading congratulations cards and telegrams can also help to kindle warm memories.
