How to Clean PSP Games

PSP or PlayStation Portables are hand held gaming systems that require a small disk that looks like a CD inside of a plastic case. These cases are not to be tampered with, or the PSP game may become damaged. The UMD, or plastic case should never be opened unless you are familiar with UMD make up and repairs. Many game stores offer the option of cleaning your games for any game system and sell the UMD cleaning system this article addresses.

Things You'll Need:

UMD Cleaning system

Alcohol

Chamois

Open the UMD cleaning system for the PSP by pressing the button on the front. This cleaning case has a specific area made into the center to hold UMD PSP games and movies, and will ensure no further damage comes to them through cleaning.

Apply the alcohol to the chamois inside the cleaning system and place the UMD PSP game or PSP movie inside the cleaning system. Press the lid closed in order for the parts inside to engage the PSP game properly.

Hold onto the edge of the cleaning system and then grasp the knob on the outside. Move the knob in a circular fashion to start the cleaning cycle. As long as you are turning the knob, the cleaning takes place. When you stop turning the knob, the cleaning is over.

Press the open button on the cleaning system and remove your newly cleaned UMD PSP game or movie.
