Here are some simple ideas for finding last minute Christmas decorations. Look in your boxes of Christmas decorations such as ornaments and garlands. Perhaps there are some Christmas balls that you would like to display? A quick idea for a fast and easy centerpiece is to use some wine glasses and put those shiny Christmas balls into them. Arrange them clustered together and if you want, put some tinsel garland around the bottom of them. Another quick idea is to take a box of candy canes and display them either in a clear, tall glass or a Christmas mug that is just taking up space in the back of your kitchen cabinet. When you look in the back and top shelf of your kitchen cabinets you never know what you will find. If you remembered to pick up some wrapped Christmas candy all you need is a pretty glass bowl to display them in. This makes a practical Christmas decoration. Another idea is to go through the stack of Christmas cards that you have received from friends and family. Pretty Christmas cards can create a display all on their own. We all seem to collect Christmas decorations over the years that often gets tossed into a box and never used. It is simple to just hang a piece of garland over a doorway and make a room look more inviting. Miniature lights that you may have used on a tree or outside can also be used over a doorway, on top of a high bookshelf or on a side table. Use shatterproof ornaments either laying in a saucer or just propped around the lights to create a holiday theme. If you have time to visit your local chain drug store you may find some real bargains on Christmas decorations. A dollar store is another place to find cheap decorations that really will look nice if you display them well in your home. Use sparkly, shiny, metallic and colors of Christmas like red and green to really bring holiday cheer into your home. Christmas decorations can be thrown together at the last minute and no one needs to know!
