Making a wreath for the holidays is easy to do even if you are not the artistic type. It doesn't need to cost a lot of money and it can be done in less than one hour. Here is what you will need to make a holiday wreath to decorate your front door. First you need something to use as your wreath base. You can go to your local craft store and purchase a wreath base that is made out of foam, twigs, or willow or you can repurpose a large, heavy cardboard box by tracing a large circle (maybe use a large pot as a pattern?) and cutting it out. Next you will need something to wrap around your wreath. Depending on what you base is, you will need to cover the wreath completely. Ideas to wrap your wreath include garland, ribbon, yarn or fabric. After you wrap your wreath and make sure it is secure (use hot glue or white glue) then it is time to decorate it. There are many choices and ideas for how to decorate a holiday wreath. You can chose one color theme such as all blue, or you can make it metallic by combining gold and silver. It all depends upon what you have on hand to decorate your wreath with and what theme you want it to have. Wrapped Christmas candy glued onto a base that is covered with holiday ribbon or garland is a nice choice. Another idea is to use unbreakable Christmas ornaments and hot glue them around the wreath until you are satisfied with how it looks. You can cut the tops off of dollar store Christmas pointsettias and scatter them around the wreath. Mix it with a few shiny Christmas balls and your wreath is decorated. Wrap a ribbon around the top to hang the wreath and you are done! Choose your favorite Christmas items and use colors that appeal to you and you cannot go wrong!
