How to Create an Origami Dragon

Origami is a paper folding technique that you can use to make many types of shapes. To make yourself an origami dragon you need to start with an origami bird base. This is the starting point for your dragon or any other type of bird that you want to make from paper. However, you need to make sure that your have a large enough piece of paper.

Step 1

Fold the two side corners of the diamond for your origami bird base inward to the center.

Step 2

Fold the bottom of the diamond down and forward to form a triangle shape with a pointed tail. Fold the corner on the upper right over onto the opposite side. Fold the corner on the right down to the bottom.

Step 3

Open the folder paper evenly along the bottom corner. Fold the upper left section pf the paper back and down.

Step 4

Fold the upper corner on the right and align it vertically with the bottom corner. Fold the bottom corner to match. You will see a tail and two wings begin to emerge.

Step 4

Fold one half of the bottom corner up so that it is flush with the horizontal section. Fold the second half of the bottom corner up to match. Fold the long section of the paper on the right into any shape that you want for the head of the dragon.

Step 5

Fold the section of paper on the right to shape the tail. Fold down the top section to make the left wing and then fold the bottom section down to make the right wing.
