Facebook by Stoneysteiner

There is always some ploy going around to get reaction and activity on a site.  This usually comes in the form of a Spammed Rumor.  The latest is that Facebook will begin charging tomorrow (after midnight tonight).  Well, I have news for them, if they are, you won't  see me around there.  But they are not.  Spams are convincing sometimes when you don't know their nature completely.  Just as I learned that with PayPal, you will never receive an email from them asking for you to confirm a Bank Number, etc.  Paypal is like your online Bank and is controlled by the powers that be who control all banking.  It acts as a liaison to your bank.  Always go to your Paypal account rather than responding to an email bearing their name.  They are secure to my knowledge and so is Facebook but they are not secure in keeping folks from spamming rumors.  Here are the things to do before you believe or accept spammed information:

SIMPLY ASK:

By googling up the questions: "Will Facebook start charging its members?" you will be led to several sites, several forums and blogs who are discussing this matter.  Listen to their feedback.  They are not worried one bit because they know that it is a spam and reads like spam.  The keyword in that message is    that it was 'even on the news'.  That's very broad and vague as well, reading exactly like a hoax or a spam.  'In the news'.  Until you hear it yourself on the 'News', it's just another word in text.

THE REASONABILITY:

Facebook has over 1 billions members in 7 years.  Could this be why it is somehow in such good standing (as mixed up as I think it is).  Do we  realize how many Ads are promoted?  Ads mean money, people playing Farmville and other games are generating money to the Facebook family. If you've ever seen the Facebook team on Television (I did last year) you would see that the owner is totally savvy in his business and has many workers.

WHY FACEBOOK IS IGNORING:

My guess is that Facebook does not play into the rumors.  If they were about to charge, they would send their over billion of members notices.  They don't want to lose members and certainly a charge would take a large chunk out of their Member numbers if a charge suddenly arises.  It's not about one's intelligence but it is about being able to separate a Rumor, and a Hoax in the form of Spam from the truth.

HOW THE PHONY NOTICE REEKS OF A CHAIN LETTER:

Chain letters always have you to do something and that's pass them around.  If we lived by the laws of those letters and the horrible implications of what will happen to us if we don't pass them around and the highly blessed people who become rich or something, somewhere in the Himalayas because they pushed this garbage of a letter is crazy.  Well, each time someone was sinister enough to put one on my office desk or in my chair, didn't accomplish much.  The letter stopped with me along with a warning to associates "I don't buy into it....never send me another chain!"  Likewise, Facebook!
