How to Make a Toilet Paper Origami Bucklethumbnail Make a Toilet Paper Origami Buckle

Intro: These are instructions for a fancy fold on the end of a roll of toilet paper in a hotel room. This is yet another in my series of attempts to advance the art form.

Instructions

1

Rip off the ed of the toilet paper at a perforation so the end is straight across.

2

Fold the end of the toilet paper at a 45 degree diagonal. Line up the bottom edge with the side of the roll.

3

Fold the fold in half again. Bring the bottom point up to the other end of the first fold. Crease well.

4

Unfold everything then make a fold straight across intersecting where the last two folds cross. The next step will be slightly easier if you fold it under, but that's hard to show in a picture.

5

Using the creases from the first folds, tuck them in as shown in the picture.

6

This is the tricky part to describe. Lift up the point so it's pointing at you and grip the folded edges at diagonals to each other and pull to flatten out the point into a square. Alternate between diagonals, then smash down into place.

Tips & Warnings

Some people are disturbed at the thought that someone has had their hands all over the toilet paper. It's a good idea to do a fancy fold on the backup roll and a simple point on the main one.
