Shea Butter is derived from the Karite Tree also known as the African Shea Tree. Shea Butter is used as a beauty product mostly for hair and skin. It also promotes blood circulation. With just a few quick steps, making Shea Butter can be very simple. It will also be more beneficial then buying Shea Butter in the store which contains additives.

Things You'll Need

*  1 Pound Unrefined Shea Butter
*  1 Tablespoon Grapeseed Oil
*  SaucePan
*  Stove
*  Mixing Spoon
*  Handheld Electric Blender
*  Refrigerator
*  Essential Oil (Optional)

1. Take out your 1 lb of unrefined Shea Butter and place it into a saucepan. Make sure to have your stove on a low heat setting and nothing higher. Anything higher will burn the Shea Butter.

2. Pour in 1 tsp of grape seed oil. This will keep the Shea Butter soft during cooling time.

3. Now you can take the mixture, and pour it into an electric blender (preferably a handheld blender). If you want to add fragrance or vitamins to your mixture, add in your essential oil now. Blend the Shea Butter on high for about 3-4 minutes until it creates a whipped texture.

4. After it is whipped, put it into a container filling it all the way up and sealing the top to prevent any air bubbles.

5. Refrigerate overnight and take out in the morning for use. You do not need to place it back into the refrigerator after cooling.
