Intro: This is my variation on a popular towel folding technique. You can leave this dog on a bed for a guest to find. If you work in a resort hotel, or on a cruise ship, you can leave these in the rooms or cabins. This dog is made from one bath towel, shown in blue, and one hand towel, shown in red. Eyes, and a nose can be made from just about anything. Here they are made from punched paper, and a small coin.
Step 1: Lay out your bath towel on a flat surface. This will become the towel dog's body. Fold the ends of the towel in almost to the center leaving a gap.
Step 2: Roll the short edges of the bath towel toward the center until the two rolls meet. You should end up with something that looks like an ancient scroll.
Step 3: Flip the rolled towel over. Spread the towel dogs back legs apart, and stand them on end.
Step 4: Flip the front legs over the top.
Step 5: Lay out your hand towel. This will become the towel dog's head.
Step 6: Fold the hand towel in thirds along the length of the towel.
Step 7: Fold over one end of the folded hand towel at a 45 degree angle and pull out the corners. The corners will form the dogs ears.
Step 8: Roll the rest of the hand towel folded in thirds around the angled fold to form the head.
Step 9: Place objects to form the eyes and nose. Add a washcloth tail if you like.
