How to Set Up the UR74A Universal Learning Remote

Universal remotes come in many types that will work to control a television, stereo receiver and other types of electronic equipment. If you want a remote that will control various functions of your house, a universal learning remote will be needed. One type of universal learning remote you may want to use is the UR74A, which will control up to five devices or components.

Setup Remote with Components

Step 1: Turn on the audio or video component that you want to control with the learning remote, such as a TV, satellite receiver or DVR unit.

Step 2: Press the “Setup” button until you see the a solid LED indicator. Press the “Mode” button for the component that you want to control.

Step 3: Enter the 3-digit code for the component. The LED indicator will turn off after the third digit has been entered.

Step 4: Press the “Power” button while pointing the remote at the component. The component should be turned off.

Step 5: Turn on the component and then press the “Channel Up” button on the remote. If the channel changes the setup was successful.

Step 1: Turn on the component that you want to control with the remote.

Step 2: Press the “Setup” button until you see the a solid LED indicator. Press the “Mode” button for the component that you want to control.

Step 3: Press the “Channel Up” button until you see the channel change for the component.

Step 4: Press the “Enter” button to save the setting for the component.
