A great party favorite and they are delicious. This is one of those recipes that everyone will be asking you for. These are pretty easy to make.Â They are one of my favorite snacks. I like to make the stuffing mixture before hand and then stuff and fry when I want them.
YOU WILL NEED:
50 WONTON SKINSÂ ( SQUARE )
1/2 CUP DICED CELERY
3 GREEN ONIONS CHOPPED
1 CAN WATER CHESTNUTS ( DRAINED AND CHOPPED )
3 TBLSP. FRESH GRATED GINGER
1/4 CUP GRATED CARROTS
2 TBLSP. PEANUT OIL
1 1/2 TBLSP. SOY SAUCE
2 TSP. SESAME OIL
1 EGG ( BEATEN )
4 CUPS VEGETABLE OIL
1. Â FIRST CHOPPED ALLÂ YOUR VEGETABLES. IN A FRYING PAN SAUTE YOUR CELERY, ONIONS, WATE CHESTNUTS, FRESH GINGER, AND CARROTS IN YOUR HOT PEANUT OIL UNTIL THEY ARE TENDER BUT STILL CRUNCHY.
2. ALLOW TO COOL UNTIL WARM AND ADD YOUR SOY SAUCE AND SESAME OIL. SEPERATE YOUR WONTONS SKINS AND LAY FLAT. PLACE ONE TEASPOON OF YOUR VEGTABLE MIXTURE IN CENTER OF WONTON SKINS.
3. FOLD WONTONS TWICE DIAGONALLY TOWARDS THE CENTER.Â BEAT YOUR EGG YOLK AND USE IT TO BRUSH THE EDGES OF THE WONTON WHILE FOLDING TO HOLD THEM TOGETHER.
4. POUR YOUR OIL INTO A LARGE SAUCE PAN. Â HEAT TO 350.Â PLACE WONTONS INTO HOT GREASE IN BATCHES. FRY THEM FOR ABOUT 2 TO 3 MINUTES.Â Â REMOVE FROM OIL AFTER 2 TO 3 MINUTES AND ALLOWÂ TO DRAIN ON A PAPER TOWEL. SERVE WITH SWEET AND SOUR OR YOUR CHOICE OF DIPPING SAUCE.
