How to Advertise Lawn Service Business

Advertise your lawn business and attain new clients and service contracts.  Advertisement is a great way to promote your skills and expertise to your community.   When you advertise your business you put yourself in front of the competition.

Step 1

Determine your advertisement budget.  Do this by adding up your positive cash and then deducting your business costs.  Any positive money left in your account could be used to cover the costs for advertisement.

Step 2

Purchase business cards. A business card is a good way to network your business as it features your basic information; your name, business name, contact information, your expertise, and business motto.

Step 3

Hand out your business card to managers of garden centers, local nurseries and introduce yourself to local home builders.

Step 4

Advertise your lawn services by making up business flyer's.  The business flyer will offer more details about your expertise.  You may want to show a before and after image of a lawn and garden that you clean-up.  Include your contact information, name of business, motto and client testimonials on the flyer.  Hang your flyer on bulletin boards at your church, at the library, or at the gym.  Hand the flyer out to your neighbors, even if they do not need your services they may know of someone who does.

Step 5

Promote your lawn service by featuring your yard.  Make sure your yard is manicured at all times.  Set up a metal lawn sign with your business name.  Attach a plastic flyer container to the metal sign.  Fill the container with your lawn service flyers.  Place the metal sign close to the sidewalk.  This is a good way to show off your skills and expertise to your community and to also network your business.

Step 6

Contact your local business phone book directory and inquire about advertising your business.

Step 7

Design a website that will feature photographs of your skills; specialty designed gardens, before and after photographs and your contact information. Add your website information to your business card.

Step 8

Design two magnetic business signs.  The signs will feature the name of your business and your business phone number.  Place the magnetic signs on the passenger side of your doors.  These signs will draw attention to your work vehicle and you will gain new clients that are interested in learning more about your services.   Make a point to drive through your neighborhood.  This is an effective way to advertise your business

Step 9

Advertise in a small community newspaper, or your church newsletter.  Purchase a spot in the newspaper that will feature the name of your business, contact information, website address, your motto and service information; lawn care maintenance, lawn mowing, complete landscape installation, seasonal lawn care.  List the areas that you are skilled in so clients will know to contact you for their lawn and yard needs.

Tips:

Promote your business to friends, neighbors and acquaintances.  Carry your business card with you at all times.

Join an online lawn care directory for lawn service and landscapers.  This is an easy way for clients to find lawn service providers in their area.
