There has been some controversy about whether or not a flu-shot is safe to prevent seasonal flu.  Many people are afraid to take any vaccines.  Instead, they try to avoid getting sick.  Here are some ways to do that.

Step 1:  Keep your hands clean by washing them frequently with anti bacterial soaps.  Hand sanitizer can be taken when you go places.  When touching door knobs, shopping carts or anything else commonly touched by others avoid touching your face until you can wash up. This will prevent the seasonal flu virus from spreading.

Step 2: Eat healthy and get plenty of Vitamin C to prevent seasonal flu.  This will keep your immune system strong and ready to fight off diseases.  Drink plenty of fluids to wash the germs down where the stomach acid will kill them.  Some people recommend gargling with warm salt water each day to kill any viruses lurking in the throat.

Step 3:  Keep your nasal passages clean to prevent seasonal flu.  Blow your nose in the morning when you get up and again before you go to bed at night.  Some individuals like to purchase a Neti Pot to rinse out their nostrils and sinuses each day.  Others use cotton swabs dipped in salt water to clean the tissues inside of the nose. This seems to help decrease the number of viral infections a person can get.

Tips:  Dispose of all  Kleenex type tissues in the trash after each use and wash your hands after touching them.
