Place the eggs in a pan large enough to hold them all on one layer. The pan you use should have a tight fitting lid, but don't put it on yet. Add cold water to completely cover the eggs. Place the pan over heat and allow the water to come to a boil. Turn the heat off or remove from heat if you are using an electric burner, and put the lid on the pan. Allow the eggs to sit in the boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove the lid and drain the hot water. Shake the pan a little to crack the shells. Cover the eggs with cold water and allow to stand 10 minutes. If the eggs are still warm, pour the water off and add more cold water. Don't try to peel the eggs until they're completely cooled. You will be able to peel the eggs without tearing them and they will be done to perfection.
