How to Make Homemade Red Lobster's Copycat Shrimp Scampi

Homemade Copycat Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi

Do you love Red Lobster's Shrimp Scampi and would like to make it at home? This copycat recipe is much like the dish you get at Red Lobster. Shrimp Scampi is a classic Italian dish, it may be served as an appetizer or a main dish. Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi is an elegant but simple dish that you can make at home with a few easy to find ingredients.

Ingredients needed for Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi:
1 ½ cups white wine
½ cup butter, softened, do not use margarine
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ fresh lemon, juiced
½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon parsley
3 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 pound medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
salt and pepper

Equipment needed to make Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi:
Cast iron skillet
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Paring knife
Chopping knife
Cutting Board

Directions for making Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi:
Step 1: Heat cast iron skillet to medium high; add olive oil.
Step 2: Add shrimp and cook until tender and no longer translucent; lower heat.
Step 3: Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
Step 4: Add garlic and cook 2-3 minutes. Do not brown.
Step 5: Add white wine and lemon juice.
Step 6: Cook until wine is reduced by half.
Step 7: Add Italian seasoning.
Step 8: Reduce heat to low and add butter.
Step 9: Add shrimp back into sauce. Add parsley.
Step 10: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 11: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

This recipe makes four servings.

Wine may be reduced to half and used water instead.
Use garlic to your taste.
Do not brown garlic it will make it bitter.
If pan is too hot when adding butter if will separate.

Be careful not to overcook the Shrimp. The shrimp is done when it has turned pink.
