How to Kick the Addictions

holding jager Addictions to alcohol, tobacco or drugs destroy lives of marriage, family, and friends. Addiction is a very powerful force to deal with. Any abuse can lead to out of control life style. Addiction will takes control of anybody life and will give up family friends and marriages. Once addicted to any substance can be extremely hard to break the habit. But there is an essential way to kick any addiction abuse.

First thing to do is write a commitment down on paper. Pick a quit date and writ it down on that commitment paper. On that same paper write down a vow to quit and post it anywhere that is visible. Your written vow should be a reminder during the hard time that you are going to have on the way to recovery.  

The second way to kick of the addiction is to get support. You have to choose the right people to get support from them and that understand. Doctors, therapist, close friends that have been in that situation before can help.

NEVER, NEVER be around people that do not understand you that you want to quit or friends, relatives that are addicted. An old verse on the bible can explain this better in (Proverbs 13:20 that mention: He that is walking with wise persons will become wise but he that is having dealings with the stupid ones will fare badly). So spend time with people that can give you encouragement to quit your addiction, become friends with them.

Third step is eating on a regular schedule. That means 3 times a day on high protein and keeping your blood sugar levels on a constant mode. Eat fresh vegetables, whole grain products, bean, and soy. This kind of food digests slowly and keeps your blood sugar level constant. If don’t have you blood sugar constant that when the intense craving starts to act.

Now the forth step is to take vitamin supplements and herbal remedies. Vitamins, DOES NOT make you quitting easier. But certain vitamins do reduce the withdraw symptoms.

Consider taking 100mg of each of these vitamins B3, B5, B6 and 400 mg B12, 800mg folic acid, 400 (IU) E, 1000 mgC. Always take vitamins with food. For herbal use take mike thistle caps if you are drug or alcohol addicted.

The herb cuts back the flu- like symptoms that a person has when they have a withdraw. There are always help; you also contact the American Lung Association, 1800-586-4872.

I had one addiction: cigarettes which some say is more addictive than alcohol and other drugs. I am in my eleventh year and have never, ever looked back, nor gained weight. It is hard but definitely achievable and with your excellent guidelines, one should win. Thanks for sharing.
