What's better than English muffins in the morning? Homemade fresh English muffins! These are easy to make and great to eat you can even freeze them for up to 6 months after you make them. Homemade english muffins have so much more flavor than the store bought ones. Try them with your favorite jelly or jam, or just a little butter you willbe amazed at the flavor you will want to make these all the time. YOU WILL NEED: yeast flour sugar butter salt cornmeal milk First you will want to dissolve 1 package of yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and add 1 tblsp. sugar. Then in a large bowl add 3/4 cup warm milk 4 tblsp. butter and add the yeast mixture to this stir. Next add 2 1/2 cups flour and stir until well mixed. Flour a surface and knead your dough for 5 minutes. Then let dough rise until doubled. When doubled turn onto floured surface and smash down. Roll dough out on floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a cutter about 3 inches round and cut and set on a greased pan. When done cutting out dip each in cornmeal then cover and let rise for another 1/2 hour. Last when done rising cook on an electric griddle at 300 degrees for a 10 minutes on each side make sure they are well browned. cool and cut in half. Toast and enjoy
