HOW TO MAKE THE BEST HOMEMADE BAKED DONUTS

These donuts are great and you don't have to fry them you bake them. so they are healthier for you. The kids love them and it is fun to let them help make these and decorate them.

YOU WILL NEED:  

yeast

water

shortening

evaporated milk

sugar

eggs

salt

nutmeg

cinnamon

flour

butter

confectionary sugar

vanilla

 

 

1. Fist preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl dissolve 1 pkg. yeast, 1/4 cups warm water (110-115 degrees) 1 1/2 cups warm milk, and 1/3 cup butter flavored shortening, mix well. Next add 1/2 cup sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. nutmeg, 1/8 tsp cinnamon and 2 cups flour. Beat on low with electric mixer until dough is smooth. Add 2 1/2 to 3 cups of flour just enough to make a soft ball. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.

2. After is has risen turn onto floured surface punch down and roll out to about a 1/2 inch thick. Cut with desired donut cutter. Place donuts on a greases cookie sheet cover and let rise for about a half and hour or until doubled3

3. Brush your donuts with butter and put in pre heated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. You can top these any way you like will icing, powdered sugar, cinnamon etc...
