How to treat fire ants bites and stings

Fire ants swarms are one of the worst things in the world to get into when it comes to camping or simply doing yard work. They can sting you like crazy and then make you itch like your going out of your mind. Fire ant stings are very prone to causing allergic reactions and you won't know it is going to happen until it is too late. If you are interested in learning how to treat fire ant bites and relieve the unwanted symptoms keep reading.

The first step to treating fire ant bites is to remove all your clothing and make sure every single ant has been removed from the body. This will help to prevent any kind of further stinging and problems. Make sure you get the remaining ant off and then lay down and elevate the part or parts of the body that has been stung by a fire ant.

You will then need to clean and disinfect the area that was bitten. Then you need to apply a very nice portion of topical steroid cream that is nice concentration of hydrocortisone. If need you can give the person some oral antihistamines.

You will need to make sure to monitor the person for a couple of hours just to make sure there are no sudden allergic reactions or to make sure there reactions are severe and need medical attention. The injured person will then have to make sure to monitor the site for any kind of infection in the next coming couple of days.

If you or the injured person notice that the symptoms they are having keep persisting, it would be in your best interest to seek medical attention. If any infection or other symptoms begin to show, make sure to seek medical attention immediately.
