How to Make a Chocolate four layer pudding dessert

This Four Layer Pudding Dessert is a pleaser for everyone from kids to adults. This elegant dessert is so easy to make using cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, instant pudding mix, milk, whipped topping, butter, flour and pecans. For a variation you may use different flavors of the instant pudding mix. This recipe is a favorite and has been used many times in my family. The dish is always empty when time to clean up.

Ingredients needed to make Four Layer Pudding Dessert:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts, I use pecans
1 stick melted butter
1 -8 ounce package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
2-8 ounces of whipped topping, thawed
2 packages of instant chocolate pudding (or other flavor of choice)
3 cups of milk
Nuts or grated chocolate to put on top, if desired

First Layer:
Step 1: In a medium size bowl combine four, nut and butter.
Step 2: Put the crust mixture over the bottom of a 9x13 in baking pan and press together to form a crust.
Step 3: Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Cool.

Second Layer:
Step 1: In a large size bowl mix together the cream cheese and sugar; then fold 8 ounces of the whipped topping.
Step 2: Place spoonfuls of this mixture evenly all over the cooled crust.
Step 3: Carefully spread out the cream cheese to cover the crust, taking care to not break the crust.

Third Layer:
Step 1: In a bowl combine pudding mixes and milk and stir until well blended and thick.
Step 2: Spoon pudding over cream cheese layer and carefully spread it out.

Fourth Layer:
Step 1: Spread topping evenly over the pudding layer. Top with nuts, chocolate shavings or sifted cocoa, if desired.
Step 2: Refrigerate for several hours before serving.

Tips:
May use different flavors of pudding mix
May double or triple recipe for larger number of servings.
Be sure your crust is completely cool before you start your layers.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving
