The uppercut is a punch that is used from "under" and it serves to reach at someone's chin. When fighting in martial arts or boxing , this punch is best to use when you are at a short distance from your opponent, and even though your aim is the chin you can also aim at the stomach or the solar plexus, especially if you are much shorter than your opponent.

Things You'll Need: Mouthpiece Gloves Chest protector Step 1

Get in your stance with your left foot forward or even the right one depending if you are left or right handed, depending which is more comfortable for you.

Step 2

Make sure that your arms are positioned to protect your face and chest when your opponent will attack.

Step 3

Step forward so that you are close to your opponent, and punch at either the stomach or chin.

Step 4

Your arm position should be close and your hand facing up as you give power to the punch. And make sure to always bring back your arms to protect yourself from the attacks.
