For whatever reason you want to plan a potluck dinner, you just cannot go wrong when you plan a potluck barbecue. A potluck meal has many benefits such as, getting to spend time with friends and family as well as getting to eat some of the best food in the world. Potlucks are a great advantage for the hostess for the fact that he or she can relax and enjoy the party as well as the guests. When it comes to planning the best potluck dinner, you have to plan your menu accordingly and ask the guests you invite what kind of dish they will be making. You may consider making up a list to give your guests of certain things that can be made so you do not have to much of one thing like too many desserts or main courses. Still give your guests the choice to bring whatever they want, just make sure they tell you what they are bringing.

If you have guest who are not into cooking or just simply cannot cook, have them bring items such as drinks, ice, plates, napkins and other items that are needed. Make sure you remind them store bought food is okay, in case they would rather bring that. Always make sure your guest know you appreciate them and they are welcomed to bring or do anything they like.

Make sure you stay as planned as possible. Be sure to know whose dish belongs to whom and that it gets returned once the party has ended. Be sure to remind guests who have certain food allergies about the dished that have nuts or seafood and eggs. Make sure you keep up with the foods such as the hot foods and the cold foods. You do not want to have something spoiling and your guests getting sick.

Make sure to have one table for the drinks, plates, cups ice and other things. That way you can minimize time and cause less of congestion when it comes to waiting in line. Lastly recruit friends or family to help you keep up with everything such as clearing out the trash and making sure everything stays stocked. A potluck barbecue really is one of the funniest things that one can do during the summer.
