How To Make Irish Onion Gravy |

If you ever get the chance to visit an Irish Pub, you will notice that just about everything they make gets covered with one of the most delicious onion gravies in the world. The gravy is traditionally poured over things such a burgers, hash, and other kinds of entree's. If you are interested in learning how to make this amazing gravy, keep reading to learn how you can replicate the gravy to use at home. You are going to need a couple of ingredients when it comes to making this amazing gravy. You are going to need: 1 tsp. butter 6 onions 1 tbs. Flour salt and pepper to tastes 2 cups of either beef or chicken stock 1 Guinness  The very first thing that you are going to do is slice all the onions. They are the main ingredient in this recipe and people that tend to not like onions, will not be able to tell they are in there and will love this gravy! After slicing all the onions, you are going to add them to a skillet with the butter that has already been melted. Make sure they cook very slowly and caramelize. This process can take around fifteen minutes to complete and you need to make sure your stir them every couple of minutes so the onions do not stick to the pan or burn. After that step has been completed, you will then start adding the first cup of stock (either one you prefer) and the Guinness. This step is going to take a while as you will reduce the heat on the stove to low and reduce the liquid down to half. You will have to make sure that you stir every couple of minutes. Once that has been completed, you will then add the second cup of stock and stir. Make sure to turn the heat on the stove off once you have stirred the mixture. You will then take the onion mixture and the other mixture you just completed and add them to a blender. In another container, mix the flour and ¼ cup of cold water. Once that is mixed together add the flour and water to the blender and blend everything at a medium speed until everything is smooth and no lumps are found. Once the blending is done, you will then pour the onion mixture into a skillet and cook for another two to three minutes. Add the salt and the pepper to taste and your done. This amazing gravy can be used with just about any kind of dish. It is really great with mashed potatoes or some type of dish that uses gravy. It does not matter if you are an onion lover or not, you are sure to love this easy to make gravy.
