It is possible to sign up for just about any form of financial accounts online, including a checking account. If you currently have a savings account through a particular bank it is possible to log onto your account online and request to sign up for a checking account. The process only takes a few minutes of your time and then in a few days you'll receive your first box of checks and a debit card.
Log onto your banking account online. If you do not yet have an online account through the company (but have a savings account) select the "Register" option, then fill in all the required information (such as address, Social Security number and email account). Set up a username and password to use on future login occasions.
Click the "Accounts" information once you log in and your savings account is listed. Choose to open a "New Account."
Click "Checking Account," then select the particular checking account you want to open (there maybe different account options, ranging with the amount of money required to be in the account at all times and the interest rate you receive).
Select the amount of money you want to transfer from the savings account to the checking account. A minimum balance is listed and you must maintain this amount in the account otherwise the account may either be shut down or you receive a fine.
Click "Confirm" and the new checking account opens. From here select the kind of checks you want, the look of the debit card and the pin used with the card.
