How to Make Crockpot Hot Dogs

Hot dogs in the crockpot? Yes! This is a very simple way to cook hot dogs.  Sure, you can just go ahead and boil them.  But your family will get a kick out of seeing them in the crockpot, like they are some sort of gourmet delicacy.  Also, cooking hot dogs in the crockpot is an easy way to serve hot dogs at a pot luck dinner or for any party, even at a barbecue.  You don't need anyone to stand there and watch the hot dogs so they don't burn!

Ingredient List for Crockpot Hot Dogs:
Your favorite brand of hot dog wieners
Hot dog rolls
Hot dog toppings like chopped onion, sauerkraut, chili, etc.
Condiments like catsup, mustard, relish, etc.

Step 1:  Remove your hot dogs from the package and place them in a bowl of water for about 30 minutes to remove some of the salt (or buy hot dogs that are low in salt).

Step 2:  Drain the hot dogs and place the hot dogs in the crockpot.

Step 3:  Set the crockpot on High and cook for about 2 hours.

Step 4:  Place the hot dogs in the rolls and let your family or guests top them with whatever toppings and condiments they like.

Step 5:  Keep the hot dogs hot during a party or pot luck dinner by turning the crockpot on low.
