Homemade Amaretto

Did you know you can make your own amaretto?  Yes, you can!  Amaretto is a delicious and sweet almond flavored liqueur that is used in many cocktails, such as an Amaretto Sour or a Toasted Almond.  It can also be served as is on the rocks and is an all time favorite to add to hot coffee or a latte.

You can also use Amaretto in many food recipes such as sweet desserts and gourmet candy.  Homemade Amaretto is very easy to make and you will save money by making your own.

Ingredient List:
1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups vodka
2 tablespoons almond extract
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Step 1:  Put the water, the white sugar and the brown sugar in a saucepan.

Step 2:  Heat the mixture over medium heat until the mixture is boiling and the sugar is dissolved.

Step 3:  Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Step 4:  Stir in the vodka, the almond extract and the vanilla.

Step 5:  Store the homemade Amaretto in a bottle or jar and refrigerate to keep it fresh.

Yes, a lot simpler recipe than one would think. I'll bet it tastes better, too. Thanks for sharing.
