There are also other options to choose from, like you can create separate titles on the same DVD or select and combine files into one title.

You can now look for your output directory and select the output format. You don't need to change the output format if you had selected it via default to DVD. Just click the "OK" button to continue then wait for the conversion to get done. It could take a while to finish depending on your file size but once it's finished, you can burn your DVD by clicking the button through the bottom on the left side.

Tips:

Search online and read recommendations from tech sites. Avoid paying money for a full AVI to DVD video conversion program. Try it first because there are free software that you could use without spending any money. Once you agreed to pay but you don't like the video conversion software, the chances are, you may no longer get your money back. Make sure that your video conversion software runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Choose AVI to DVD burner with additional video editing features like clipping unwanted parts, cropping image size, adding audio tracks and subtitles, and adding watermarks. There are burners where you can create customized DVD menu with customized background music and picture, along with menu topic and opening film clip. Consider a high-speed to burn from AVI to DVD, MPEG to DVD with just a few clicks so that you can save time and effort. Some will not only burn DVD movie disc, but can also create DVD folder and ISO image file and offers a wide range of menu templates to create your very own DVD menu.

Examine if the software will allow you to add multiple audio tracks into a video, easily adjust volume, set audio delay, and choose loop option to make a multi-audio DVD.  A simple interface is also important for easier navigation. Check if it has adjustable settings that includes television standard, video/audio quality, resize mode and among other things. It's also important if you can easily set an action like if you want it to hibernate, shut down, exit or standby. Auto performance is a wonderful feature especially after conversion is done to minimize the waiting period and therefore saves you a lot of time.

There are available AVI to DVD converters that automatically select the right conversion format. Choose a software that can work for PAL including NTSC videos and can convert your existing videos from camcorders and handy cams into DVD format. You may also check if it's capable of creating different chapters automatically and supports multiple audio formats.

Warning:

Take note that some DVD conversion software trials will usually expire for a short period of time or has a very limited number of uses. Because you're using it for free, you could also expect something that has less serviceability and advantage compared to a paid full copy. It's advisable to read reliable reviews from customers who had used the software and from other trusted tech sites than accept free offer trials so that you will not waste your time.

There are some video converter programs that provides poor quality when the picture and sound will be synchronized. The scenes could be clear at the beginning including the sound, but when you had created a longer movie, a deferment or interruption between picture and sound may occur. Make sure that the DVD you had created will not only play in your PC but also in your DVD player.

This is a well written article. I would suggest the reader try different software solutions for converting avi to dvd. As you very well put it some are better than others. One product may work well with my computer configuration whereas another may not. Finding the right software is a lot of time a matter of trial and error.
5* for good content, procedure and warnings.
