How to peel a mango.  How do you peel a mango?  It may seem difficult to peel a mango, the mushy, juicy, but flavorful fruit.  Here's how to peel a mango to eat.

Peeling a mango depends on the type of mango you are eating, but most of the basic principles for peeling a mango remain the same.  For the sake of simplicity, I'll talk about peeling the smaller, yellow mangoes, marathon brand mango's, whose slogan is "best in the long run."

First, to peel a mango, use your teeth or a sharp object to open the mango.

Next, to peel it, work your fingers into the hole you've created, ripping the mango skin away from the mango meat to peel it.

As you eat into the mango, continue this process to peel a mango, peeling the skin away from the mango with your fingers before you take each bite.

This method to peel mangoes works best with a fully ripe mango, so let your mango get ripe before you peel a mango using this method.  Enjoy!

Well, the mango must be the most confusing fruit around lol. But thanks for the guidelines. I had to aquire a taste for them because they used to taste 'musty' to me but now, I appreciate them but usually peel them wrong. Good article.
