How to Dress Eclectically

Eclectic, meaning selecting or choosing from various sources......  Well it works quite well in fashion.  Something about the person who is daring enough to step out of convention and create a look of his own.

Eclectic dressers always look sensible and daring at the same time.  They are a little different than the outright Bohemian-style dressers.  The eclectic person may find a beautiful cherry red satin blazer at the resale, buy it, clean it and wear it with an expensive pair of jeans.  He may wear a beret and have on a Brooks Brothers shirt.  The sandals may be the earthy shoe type that costs about $400 bucks.  He or she will seem timeless.....

1. JEWELRY:

Eclectic folks love the bold look of jewelry.  Dramatic earrings, heavy, organic metals in copper, brass, gold, sterling silver, wood. Bracelets, Bangles. Vintage. New. You name it.  They have a way of making it stand out and be noticed.

2. HOW WOMEN DO IT:

Electic styled women know that you can sport a vintage white lace top, that may actually be a blouse, over a black jump/cat suit, adorn it with heavy vintage jewelry and look timeless. Or find a 50's sheath dress adorned with a mauve pink flower and complete it with trendy sandals to match the flower.  She can also find a vintage outfit from the 70's, mini style and incorporate it with trendy shoes and haircuts and look fabulous.  This is very attractive on the younger female.

4. HOW MALES DO IT:

He is going to wear his beret with a Brooks Brothers shirt. He's also going to wear a silk white tee under a black blazer topping his Calvin Klein jeans.  He is not making a statement to you but rather expressing his taste in varied cultures and textures which is a perfectly artistic and attractive way of expression.  Many times fashion trends follow the eclectic style.
