How to Know about Dangerous Products and Safer Alternatives

Everyone seems to worry about smog and other sources of pollution outside there home. But what about inside your home is it safe? Is there products that we use every day is it safe? What are the alternatives? This are questions that are very important to everybody hope this article is useful. We always think that the products that we use are safe guess again. No!

For everybody’s surprise BEEF FRANKS I love them but they have a dark secret. The nitrite preservatives in beef franks interacts with amines which occur naturally in meat and fish to form potent cancer causing compounds called nitrosamines. Franks also may be contaminated with the carcinogenetic pesticide benzene hexachloride dacthal dieldrin DDT and heptachlor with residue of powerful hormones. Now for the SAFE side are nitrite free franks or better still tofu franks there made soy beans also great for vegetarians. They taste good and are healthy try them!

BUG KILLERS are another unsafe product. Many of them household pesticides contain propoxur a compound that is both carcinogenic and neurotoxic. Now for SAFE products brands substitute with pyrethrum or another natural herbal pesticide for propoxur.

We want to keep our cats and ourselves safe also. Many brands of CAT LITTER brands contain crystalline silica an eye and lung irritant and suspected carcinogen. Now for the SAFE side cat litter made of natural ingredients such as pulverized paper.

Well here’s another danger for pets that’s FLEA COLLARS. Many flea collars contain the pesticide propoxur. Now for the SAFE side use flea collars that are made by natural herbal pesticides.

Now we all love AIR FRESHNERS but some aerosol brands contain orthophenylphenol a skin irritant and carcinogen. This particularly dangerous because tiny aerosol droplets are readily inhaled deep into the lungs. Now for the SAFE side solid air fresheners made with planted based scents. It’s best to avoid all aerosol spray products including air freshener’s cosmetics and household cleaners. 

We all want our hair to look good but also healthy. Some brands of HAIR CONDITIONER contain formaldehyde and the carcinogenic dye FD&C red #4. Now for the SAFER side is simple use natural plant based conditioners. 

Let us continue with the subject about hair that’s HAIR DYE. Black and dark brown hair dyes have been linked to several kinds of cancer including non- Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma and leukemia. Don’t worry there is a SAFER side to it you can substitute plant based substances like henna for the synthetic dyes. Never buy hair dye that contains phenylenediamine. 

All right girls let us go with the MAKEUP. Cosmetics often contain talc, titanium dioxide and or the preservatives BHA all of which are carcinogenic. In addition lanolin is also found in many brands and often tainted with DDT. But to be in the SAFE side used only natural plant based cosmetics. 

No do we think that LAUNDRY DETERGENT is safe? Don’t think so! Some brands contains washing soda and highly caustic. Some brands may also be contaminated with a carcinogen called 1, 4 dioxane. To be in the SAFE side use vegetable based detergents or laundry dry soap. 

I don’t like to have moths around the house and every body uses moth balls. Well MOTH REPELLENT often contains naphthalene a neurotoxin or dichlorobenzene a highly volatile compound that is a potent carcinogen. Didn’t the guy from the first Terminator movie made a bomb out moth balls???????? Strange!!!!!!!! To be SAFE use cedar clocks chips and sachets.

PAINT STRIPPER aerosol often contain methanol a neurotoxin that is also a potent skin and eye irritant along with methylene chloride a carcinogen. Well to be SAFE it’s a little harder but to get rid of old paints by sanding it down or scrap it off. But always use respirator mask so to avoid inhaling dust.

OK guys it’s your turn about SHAVING CREAM. Some brands contain the carcinogenic preservative BHA along with triethanolamine and diethanolamine which are nitrosamine precursors. Also other contains blue#1 and other cancer causing dyes. Now to be SAFE use natural brands especially those that are applied with a brush.

TALC powder irritates the lung and has been linked to ovarian cancer. To be SAFE side everyone use products that are made of cornstarch.

This is for everybody that brushes its teeth. Many popular brands of TOOTHPASTE contain blue #1 which is carcinogen. Fluoride is also suspected carcinogen. To be SAFE natural brands of tooth paste that does not have fluoride.

OK gardeners it’s your turn some WEED KILLER brands contains sodium 2, 4 dichlorophenoxyacetate (2, 4-D) a carcinogen and neurotoxin. To SAFE go to the nearest hardware store and buy yourself a weed (whacker) or other tools for cutting rather than to poisoning the weeds.

The last of dangerous product in this article is WHOLE MILK. This includes whole milk products like cheese and mild chocolate. Milk fat often laced with carcinogenic compounds of DDT dieldrin heptachlor and hexachorobenzene. Also some milk products are some times tainted with antibiotic residues that cause allergic reactions or cancer and produces antibiotic resistant bacteria inside the body. To be SAFE buy organic skim milk especially brands labeled bovine hormone free. I really hope this article helps everyone to stay away from dangerous products.
