How to Stop Eating When Depressed. Depression is a far reaching condition, that can have many lasting effects - including a profound effect on your diet. Whether you're depressed and trying to lose weight, or just depressed and find yourself reaching for food a little bit more than you're comfortable with, here's how you can stop eating when depressed.

First, to stop eating when depressed, or stop eating when stressed, remove any goodies, or "comfort foods" you have lying around the house.
