Springtime means weddings. So how does a young couple know who to invite to their wedding? Better yet, how do they stay within their budget without offending friends? This article takes a look at just that - how to limit your lists.

Make out your Wedding Budget. This budget will dictate the size of your guest list. After all, you only have so many dollars to go around in certain areas. Once you make out your budget, you will find that it is constantly changing. This is because you often forget things or because expenses will change over a period of time.

Do not verbally invite people. Making an off the cuff statement like, "You will come to my wedding, won't you?", will put you in a heap of trouble. Let your invitations do the speaking for you. I understand your excitement. However, don't make commitments to people that you may regret later. This will help limit your list.

Be judicious with save-the-date notices. Like above, this is the wrong thing to do. If you must do this, do it only with family. Preferably immediate family only. By keeping this list low, it is easier to adjust , if things (plans) change.

Keep expectations low. Whenever your wedding gets brought up in a conversation, always say that it will be a small wedding. You can always add to it at a later time. The key here is for the bride to keep good control over what she says. Once again, a bride gets so excited, that she might say things she regrets later.

Have two lists, an A and a B. The A list is for everyone that must be sent an invitation. The B list is for individuals that you would like to invite, but don't know if it is worth it. You can always take individuals from the B list at a later date and add them to the A list. If someone from the A list can not attend, then you can pick a priority individual from your B list to replace that person. The only hangup with this method is carefully and constantly reviewing RSVPs.

Exclude by category. Instead of inviting one person from work, you now have to invite all or you will feel guilty. Simply exclude all. This could be hard to do, unless if you have no conscience at all. However, it is an effective way to keep your wedding list low.

Check distances of travel. Some individuals may not be able to make the trip from Boston to Phoenix. If you know this, you can still send an invitation as a courtesy and invite someone else from your B list.

Everyone loves to celebrate at a wedding. However, in this economy, it is budget that counts. Controlling your guest list is a way to control your budget. There are costs you can't control. Food, halls and bands are expensive. But, a couple can control the guest list for savings.

A lot of people can benefit from this article. One must take control, especially excluding by category. Some get insulted when someone at work invites one and not the whole 300 of them lol. But it's true. You must equally exclude sometimes.
