How to Create Personalized Wine Bottles

Personalized wine bottles add a nice touch to parties, wedding and bar mitzvahs. Personalized wine bottles make great gifts. Personalized wine bottles are easy to make with just a few, inexpensive tools and materials. This tutorial will explain how to make personalized wine bottles.

Things You'll Need: wine bottles, labels, computer design software (optional), art supplies (optional)

Step 1: Select the wine you want to use to create your personalized wine bottles.

Step 2: Examine the label on the wine bottles. You will need to either remove the label or design your personalized wine bottles so that they are large enough to cover the existing labels on the wine bottles.

Step 3: Remove the labels. Soak the bottle in warm soapy water until the label is saturated. Use a razor blade or box cutter to slice off large sections of the label. Scrape off any remaining sections of the label with a scraper or an old plastic credit card card. Note that some labels have a plastic coating that is difficult to remove. Cutting sections of the label with the blade breaks the plastic seal and allows the water to penetrate the paper under the plastic so that the label is easier to remove.

Step 4: Design your label using computer software or a sketchpad and colored pencils. Create the labels for your personalized wine bottles using computer software or drawing by hand with colored pencils, magic markers or paints.

Step 5: Affix the labels to the bottles to create the personalized wine bottles.
