How to Make Scratch and Sniff Watercolor Paint

This is a very easy craft recipe to make scratch and sniff watercolor paints. With homemade scratch and sniff paints, you can paint pictures of oranges that will smell like oranges or grapes that will smell like grapes. Since you use Kool-Aid for the scent and color you will have many options for your scratch and sniff paints! You kids will have a blast using this paint. Let them make scratch and sniff greeting cards to give to their friends and relatives!

Step 1:  Buy different flavors of unsweetened Kool-Aid or any store brand of unsweetened powdered drink mix.

Step 2:  Get an ice cube tray.

Step 3:  Add one tablespoon of water and one tablespoon of Kool-Aid in one section of the ice cube tray and mix with a toothpick. You can make more or less if you like by using equal parts of water and Kool-Aid.

Step 4:  Make more colors and scents of paint in the other ice cube sections using other flavors of Kool-Aid.

Step 5:  Paint your watercolor creations using your new scratch and sniff Kool-Aid watercolor paints.

Step 6:  Let your paintings dry overnight.

Step 7:  Scratch and sniff your dry paintings! Can you guess what each smell is?
