How to Make Gooey Gunk

This is a craft recipe to make gooey gunk. Gooey gunk is a slimy, stretchy gunk of goo that any child will be thrilled to play with. This is also a very interesting recipe to make because it involves mixing two solutions together to make the gooey gunk. Making gooey gunk is the perfect craft recipe for a school science project. When you make the gooey gunk, you will be using paint. You can use red to make lava gunk, green to make slim gunk, black to make tar gunk, etc.

Step 1:  Gather the following ingredients to make gooey gunk: 1 cup of water, 1 and 1/3 cups of water (in addition to the 1 cup), 1 cup of white glue like Elmer's glue, 4 teaspoons of Borax laundry powder (Borax is in the laundry detergent aisle), 2 tablespoons of liquid tempera paint or 10 drops of food coloring.

Step 2:  Make Solution A by adding 1 cup of water, the white glue, and the paint or food coloring in a bowl. Mix until well blended then set aside.

Step 3:  In a separate bowl, make Solution B by mixing 1 and 1/3 cups of water with the Borax. Mix until the Borax is completely dissolved.

Step 4:  Slowly pour Solution A into Solution B but DO NOT mix!

Step 5:  Roll Solution A around in Solution B about four or five times.

Step 6:  Lift Solution A out of Solution B and knead it for about three minutes.

Step 7:  Play with the gooey gunk right away or store it in an airtight container or plastic zip lock bag.

This reminds me of the stuff kids used to buy that came in a miniature garbage can. Sounds fun!
