Recently, I read an article by Terria Fleming.  Her article was about making a compliment book.  I had only heard of this once before.  However, it reminded me of a project that I did in college my Junior year.  The project was to make a Happy or "Feel Good Book."  Like Terria explains in her article, the idea is to collect things (compliments, cards, pictures and artifacts) that make you feel good on bummer days.  This brief article explains how to make a "Feel Good Book."

Step One;  Visit your local craft store or go to an on line store and find an attractive book to begin with.  Try to find one that will hold pictures, and flat items.  I have even seen books with the paper pockets to hold items like cards and ticket stubs.  Prepare to spend a little extra money on this book.  However, it will be worth it.

Step Two;  Everything that makes you feel good should go in this book.  You can have sections on family, church, friends, sports and pets.  Add other categories that you desire.

Step Three;  Secure these items in the proper sections.  For example, in the pet section could go pictures of your pet at play.  Under sports, could go the box score of a big win by your home team.  In the church section, write down quotes from the bible or sermons that you hear.

Step Four;  As Terria explains have a section for compliments that you receive on a daily basis.  Write the compliment and who and when it was by.

Step Five;  Update it often as possible.

Doing this will have two things happen.  First, it will make you aware of the many compliments you receive.  Second, it will cheer you up on bad days.  This "Feel Good Book" will do wonders for promoting a positive attitude.  In your darkest moments, this book will lift you up.
