How to Clean Your Home During TV Commercials

Next time you sit down to watch your favorite TV show plan on doing housework during the commercials. Doing housework in spurts is fun and it keeps you from hating the task so much. And you will be amazed at how much house work you can complete during commercials! One two hour program can have up to 40 minutes of commercials. Look at all the time you have to do some housework! Once you start cleaning your house this way you will get addicted! And you can get your kids involved too! They will look at it like a fun game and they will not complain. So the next time you are all sitting down for your favorite family show and the commercial comes on get up and GO!

Step 1:  Do the Laundry: I always start my laundry during the first commercial break so I will have time throughout my program to get one or two loads entirely done while watching a two hour movie. So during the first commercial I start one load then if there is still time during that commercial break I sort out the clothing for the second load. Then I go back to watch TV.

Step 2:  Wash Dishes: I hate going to bed with dishes in the sink. So I make sure to start my dishes during the second commercial break. I stick to doing dishes for the next few commercial breaks until all the dishes are done. I do my dishes by hand. If you have a dishwasher then you can load or unload your dishes during TV commercials. Lucky you!

Step 3:  Vacuum: Vacuuming during commercial breaks is wonderful. I hate vacuuming and it hurts my back. So doing it in quick spurts is perfect for me. And it will be perfect for you too! If you don't have any other tasks to do you can easily vacuum your entire house during one two hour TV movie! Try it and see!

Step 4:  Clean the Bathroom: The dreaded bathroom. How we all love to clean that! Do it during commercials and you will never hate it again. During one commercial spray down all the surfaces like the tub, the sink, the toilet tank and add whatever toilet bowl cleaner you use to the toilet bowl. Let that all sit and soak until the next commercial break. The during the next commercial breaks you can start to wipe everything up! I was able to clean my entire bathroom from top to bottom including washing the floor and the walls during the commercials of two movies!

Step 5:  Cook: You can get a lot of cooking done during TV commercials. Just start at the beginning of your TV shows and make a casserole for tomorrow's dinner or bake some brownies for the next day or get the kid's lunch ready to take to school. You can also use the commercial break time to wrap and freeze meat that you bought for the freezer. Now you can never say you don't have time to cook! If you have time to watch TV you certainly have time to get some meals ready to feed your family!

Step 6:  Dust: Dusting furniture is a great task to do when you really don't feel like doing much of anything. Just get your dust rag or whatever you use and just spend a minute or two at a time of dusting anything and everything. And start by dusting the screen of that TV that you are watching!

Step 7:  Pick Up Around the House: This is a fun task to do. Yes, fun! During one commercial break run around the house and pick up anything that is out of place. Pick up dirty clothes off the floor, empty cans left on tables, magazines that are sticking out from under the couch, toys that are not where they belong. Keep at it during every commercial break until you have filled a laundry basket full of stuff. Then during the rest of the commercial breaks spend your time putting everything where it belongs! Put the dirty clothes in the laundry basket, put the empty cans in the recycling bin... you get the picture.
