How to Make a Life Size Doll Pillow |

Kids love dolls. Kids also love big pillows. So why not really gift your child a gift they will love... a life size doll pillow! Making a life size doll pillow is a craft project you can do with your kids. Or you can make one to give as a gift. You can make your life size doll pillow as simple or as decorative as you like. You do not even have to know how to sew to make this life size doll pillow. It can be a sew or no-sew project! No matter what, this life size doll pillow will make any child happy! Step 1: GET YOUR FABRIC -- To start your life size doll pillow, you will need two pieces of fabric that are bigger than your child. You can use sheets, blankets, fleece, beach towels (for a small child)... any fabric will do. You can also buy new fabric for this project if you prefer. Just make sure the fabric is long enough and wide enough for you child to be able to lay on it with their arms and legs spread a bit. Step 2: DRAW THE OUTLINE -- Once you have your fabric, put the two pieces together with the wrong sides together. You will not be turning this doll pillow so you want the printed side of the fabric facing out. Have your child lay on the fabric and take some chalk and draw around your child. You can draw a good 5 inches away from the body. Be generous because the doll will look smaller once it is stuffed. Step 3: PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER -- After you draw your child's outline, you are going to cut the fabric on the line you drew. After cutting, you can either sew the two pieces together or you can buy some liquid glue (get it at Walmart or any craft store) and just glue the fabric pieces together. Make sure you leave the top of the head open so you can have a hole for the stuffing. Step 4: STUFF THE DOLL PILLOW -- After your fabric is sewn together, stuff your pillow through the hole in the top of the head. You can stuff it with poly fil, cut up pieces of clean old clothing or old towels, sheets, socks, etc. You can also fill it with shipping peanuts! Fill the life size doll pillow as loose or as firm as you want it. After it's filled, sew or glue the top of the head. Step 5: DECORATE YOUR LIFE SIZE DOLL PILLOW -- You can leave your life size doll pillow as is or you can decorate it by adding yarn hair, button eyes, a sewn on or drawn on mouth (you can use permanent markers). You can also dress the doll using your own clothing. This doll makes a great floor pillow for watching TV. You kids will just love them and once you make one, you'll be making many more!
