Have you always wanted to run, but sometimes it is hard enough to go for a brisk walk? I can help you... I have done it myself! As always, check with your doctor before you begin a new workout routine. First, find a friend/neighbor who has the same goals as you do. If you can find someone to walk with, great! If you can not walk together, its OK...as long as you both agree to get out and walk, you can call one another and encourage each other to press on! I was so excited to be running! I then, started to run outside for 1 mile. Then, 2 and so on. I ran my first 5K race in April of last year (2008). (scene pictures above) I went slowly, but finished!
