How to Be Famous for Being Famous |

Intro: Right off the bat I have to admit that Britney Spears used to be famous for singing…or least famous for how hot she looked while she was singing.  Outside of dating Super Bowl running backs and looking drop dead gorgeous in just about anything, Kim Kardashian has no discernible talents.
One of the quickest ways for me to make my point to set a task for you. Go to Wikimedia.org. www.wikimedia.org is part of the open source sharing networks. As long as you adhere to all the rules and regulations laid out on the site, and within the bounds of those rules and regulations you may use the photos you see there in your blog postings. People have posted photos to that site to share with others. Your mission, should you decide to accept it is to find photos of Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian in bikinis or lingerie. Notice that for Britney Spears this is easy to do. For Kim Kardashian, if you want free, public domain photos of her stunning body in a bikini, you will have a difficult search on your hand.  Why is that? Step 1: If you have an in demand talent of some kind then the easiest way to become famous is to use that talent. We hasten to add here that if your talent is for creating mayhem and disaster or being a hitman, then your talent does not count. That’s just being a criminal. So Britney Spears can sing and dance and looks awfully good in a school girl uniform. So she became famous in that way. One of the problems with becoming famous in the music business is a problem that has has plagued us for most of a hundred years. The hangers-on, the partiers, the facilitators, the go betweens, those somebodies who prefer to remain nameless in the business seem to like providing party favors for the talent. Sometimes the party favors are just booze and wild parties. Sometimes it’s drugs and a very dangerous life style. If you didn’t have a good sense of who you were before you entered this process you become lost and some people never find themselves again. For awhile, Britney Spears seem to loose control over self and therefore here image. Remember when she shaved off all her hair? This is a dangerous way of being famous. Step 2: Compare and contrast this with Kim Kardashian. We don’t know whether it’s her, her managers, her family or all of the above, but someone has tight, tight control over her public image. So much so that when a new picture of her in a bikini shows up it’s national news in the celebrity world and even rates a mention in the Huffington Post. By comparison, another photo of Britney Spears in a bikini rates a yawn. Yes folks want to see it, but they don’t act as though a state secret has been revealed. To be fair, given that she has never displayed any talents, Kim Kardashian's good lucks and her good girl image are all Kim Kardashian has. They are guarded like Fort Knox precisely because that is where all the gold is. Britney Spears can do concerts if feels she is in need of the money and the cache her name and likeness already have probably mean that in some circles of the rich and famous she doesn’t need money. They would just like her to show up at the party. Kim Kardashian might have some of the same pull amongst the glitterati who want to be seen with the famous but she is not as free to use it as Britney Spears is. Spears can afford to let rumors fly that she is or is not with someone. Kardashian seems to worked hard on making it seem that she is a good girl. Good girls don’t. Step 3: Recovery. Getting your fame back on track. Of late, Britney Spears appears to have come over to the Kardashian side of the force. In fact Britney Spears seems to be almost effortlessly cultivating a better image simply by doing a better job of being who she is. She is a mother after all. For almost any obsever, a woman being a good mom in public is going to be an object of sympathy or even respect. Britney even gets away with being a good mom in a bikini. She does have the body for it after all.
