Intro:  The Chinese New Year coincides with Valentines Day this year.  So the Year of Metal Tiger falls at or near Feb 14, 2010.

Step 1:  We will discuss the Year of the Tiger and how to celebrate it.  Then we will proceed to some Valentines Day concerns

Step 2:  The Tiger is know for courage and decisiveness.  Tigers are also thought to be quick tempered and hot headed.  If you face a person born in the year of tiger and withstand the storm all is well.  He does not hold grudges and the storm is over quickly.  The Chinese Zodiac is like a giant wheel with a 60 year cycle.  So the grandchild can be born under the same auspices of his grandfather.

Naturally there are fireworks and such ushering in the Chinese New Year.  Me and my Chinese friends intend to hit a new all you can eat Chinese buffet on Feb 13th and bring on the new year on a full stomach!

Step 3:  Now as for Valentines Day festivities, despite the presence of a white metal tiger, the usual cautions apply.  Cards for casual lovers, candy and flowers for lovers of the more serious variety and you'll take the most serious girl out to dinner if you know what's good for you.
