Introduction: Most all cases of dandruff are a direct result of dry scalp, and dandruff can beĀ prevented by a few basic home remedies. Step 1: Make a solution of 1 part apple cider vinegar and 2 parts warm water and massage it thoroughly into the hair and scalp. Let this solution set on the head for about ten minutes. Step 2: Using a dandruff brush or scalp massager, vigorously scrub the scalp to loosen any dry skin or dandruff that is present and then rinse the hair with warm water. Step 3: Using an all natural shampoo with a good PH balance, wash and rinse the hair and then let it dry without the use of a hair dryer. Step 4: When the hair is completely dry, you can prevent dandruff by rubbing a teaspoon of warm olive oil into the hair and scalp. Step 5: On a daily basis, you can prevent dandruff by massaging the scalp with your finger tips for one full minute, as this improves blood flow for a healthier scalp. Follow this by brushing the hair for at least 100 strokes. Tips: A diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids serves as a lubricant to the scalp and can help to prevent dandruff. Warnings: Severe or persistent dandruff can be a symptom of a more serious illness, and should be examined by a physician.
