In order to build that parent and teen relationship stronger, parents should take any and all opportunities to talk with your teen. This will obviously require that parents spend more time with their children. By doing so it should cause the teen to trust and confide in the parent. This will allow the parent and the teen to express their feelings more freely. By spending time together and expressing their feelings this will eventually cause a bond to form between them.

Honest, Open Communication
When children are young talking confidentially was necessary. During their teenage years it is vital becomes teen usually spend less time at home and more time with friends. If there is no confidential talk this means no open and honest communication between the teen and the parent. If this happens you can expect your teen to become a stranger in the house.

Appropriate Discipline
Discipline is a form of parental correction and training with punishment coming right after. This is why it's important for the parent to be balanced. It's important to avoid being so strict that you don't cause an emotional wedge between you two. This could also damage the teens self confidence. Be careful as to not being too permissive in which they fail to provide their teens with vital guidance. Understand that permissiveness
