How to Make Paper Paste

craft recipe

This is a craft recipe that will teach you how to make paper paste. Paper paste is a soft, smooth, thick and white paste. Paper paste has a good spreading consistency and it is especially good for little hands of small children since they can get right in the paste to work with it. It will work well for any paper crafts that require pasting. Yes, you can buy paper paste in a craft store, but it's more fun to make your own. Your kids will enjoy making this paper paste and will very much enjoy using this paper paste for their arts and craft projects. This recipe makes about 1 cup of paper paste.

Step 1:  Gather the following ingredients to make paper paste: 1/3 cup wheat flour (not self rising), 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 cup water, 1/4 teaspoon oil of cinnamon.

Step 2:  Mix the flour and sugar in a saucepan. Gradually add the water while stirring vigorously to break up any lumps.

Step 3:  Cook over low heat stirring constantly until the paste is smooth and clear.

Step 4:  Remove from the stove and add the oil of cinnamon and stir until well blended.

Step 5:  Store the paste in a covered jar. Do not refrigerate. The paste will last for several weeks.
